About Us

Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority (LIEDA) is an autonomous body under Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Balochistan established vide Ordinance No. IX of 1984 to establish industrial estates for promotion of industrialization in District Lasbela Balochistan. Headquarter of the Authority is situated in a beautiful double storey building built at Hub Industrial Trading Estate. The total number of permanent staff including officers working in the Authority, at present is 380.

To achieve high standard of services with dedicated, coordinated and committed team towards more excellence and innovation envisioning an industrialised and prosperous Balochistan.

VISION

Las Bela, the name originates from Las which means a plain and Bela the jungle.Its ancient name is armabel.A district of Kalat division, Balochistan province, Pakistan. A former princely state, it has an area of 7,048 sq mi (18,254 sq km) and is bounded north by Khuzdar district, east by the Kirthar Range (separating it from Sind), south by the Arabian Sea,
and west by the Hala Range and Gwader district .
Las Bela is strategically located on the Makran coastal trade route between Sind and Iran (Persia). The army of Alexander the Great retreated to Persia through the southern part in 325 BC, and the Arab general MuḼammad ibn al-Qasim followed the same path c. AD 711.
The major irrigating river is Porali.
Las Bela princely state acceded to Pakistan in 1948. In 1955 it became a district of Kalat division and in 1961 of Karachi division; it was returned to Kalat after 1972. Its population is Muslim with considerable presence of Hindu.People here are identified themselves as Lasi ,
a linguistic dialect of sindi also.
